Stress, Anxiety, and Breathing

Stress

Stress is a huge robber of happiness and health. Scientific evidence indicates that 90 percent of all diseases are stress related. So many people are stressed out and exhausted, yet they ignore their symptoms and power through the day, taking medication to dull the pain without dealing with the deeper cause.

I am offering massage therapy that is unique with a truly one-of-a-kind style; I combine energy work and massage. First I spend about 10 minutes doing energy work prior to your massage to make your body relax well,  then I concentrate on tissue therapy that is proven to be effective because relaxing the muscles first makes massage more productive and beneficial.

When the body is tight and stressed any aggressive massage techniques will cause more pain and body resistance. I teach my clients how to relax first by doing breath work for 5 to 10 minutes their massages. The way we breathe is intimately connected with our emotions. Our breath is the most important fuel we have for energizing our bodies and maintaining optimal health and well-being.

Breathing techniques can relieve anxiety, depression, and chronic fatigue as well as increase mental clarity. Even the FDA approves breath training as a recognized treatment for hypertension; breathing deeply from the stomach is a powerful waste-removal technique because it increases the Prana or energy in the body and helps to create a happy, feel-good physical state.

When you are feeling agitated or anxious, try taking 5 to 10 deep belly breaths in a row and notice the immediate calming effect it has on your body. Each time we breathe we have an opportunity to support our happiness. Come experience my massage I promise you will feel refreshed and renewed!
